Kim Ward and Horizon Real Estate represented us in the sale of our Oceanside House in the Summer of 2009. This house was being sold as a result of a divorce. I live in Orange County, and my ex-wife lived in the house that was for sale. Kim and her office were very helpful, understanding, and professional throughout the entire process.
The house needed to be priced aggressively, and Kim was a great consultant in that department. The house also needed some minor to moderate repairs, new carpet, and a serious cleaning. Kim facilitated the repairs, the purchasing of the new carpet, and even helping my ex-wife get packed and ready to go. I don't think this was the hardest of sales for Kim, but it sure wasn't the easiest either. Lots of phone calls and ideas back and forth went into getting the home prepared for sale, and then listed.
Once the property was listed, we had a buyer within a few weeks. Kim handled all the paperwork, phone calls, offers, escrow questions (that she could answer) and more. She was extremely helpful and understanding.
In the end, Kim's ethical, professional and compassionate demeanor made a difficult sale easier to handle. I would highly recommend her and her office for anyone's San Diego County real estate needs.

My situation was desperate and I didn't know where to turn, what to do or how to do it. I had lost both my husband and my job in a matter of 3 months; left alone with my 13 yr. old son and a house both too big and too expensive to keep. As I was sharing my plight with an old friend, she mentioned to me that she new the perfect realtor to help me out. I had heard that one before, other people telling me they had the "perfect realtor" as well, but after a few phone conversations I didn't get the sense that the realtor truly had my best interest at heart.
I called Kim Ward at Horizon and immediately felt comforted. She made an appointment to meet me at the house at my earliest convenience, not hers. She had pulled information for the area and patiently walked me through my options. Neither a short sale or foreclosure sounded good, but she clearly outlined the benefits and disadvantages to both. Additionally she connected me to a tax attorney who was also very helpful and supportive.
I elected to pursue the short sale option. Throughout the process Horizon was there to answer questions. They were supportive, patient, understanding and knowledgeable. I never doubted that they had my best interest at heart and certainly never felt like just another client; I felt like I had a partner and friend during this very difficult time in my life.
My house sold, I never had to speak to the bank or other agencies- Horizon handled everything. Throughout the process they were professional and dealt with potential buyers and their agents on my behalf without complaint.
I know who to call upon when I'm ready to find my next home! I would recommend Kim Ward and her company to anyone and everyone looking to buy or sell a home. In such a tenuous, unsure and frightening time in my life who would have thought that my realtor would be the one providing a sense of security.
